First!, and Favorites

First of all, FIRST!

Ok, trolling done. So, transforming an old thread with- "What's your favorite video game (besides KoL, of course)?" oooorrrr "What's your favorite video game moment?"

I'll start. Zelda: Twilight Princess is my favorite, and finally getting 100% in it is my favorite moment. Of. All. Time. Really. It was that hard.

The game I have most often gone back to again and again over the years is Command and Conquer: Red Alert, just an all round great RTS and the acting in the cut scenes was hilarious.

My favorite game of all time is Planescape: Torment, though I am rather partial to the other Black Isle era D&D games as well. I will have to get my copies and see if I can get them to work on Vista (which will be a difficult task, no doubt...).

My favorite moment was playing on a Prop hunt server on Team Fortress 2 (where the red team is disguised as various objects and the blue team has to find and kill them all) and I hid as a pile of tires on top of a large white propane tank for around five minutes. I was the only one on the red team to survive and I laughed until I cried because I was so obvious and every blue player had to have run right by me, but none of them saw me.

Civilization 4 is a game I can keep going back to and enjoy. If I had to pick one game to be stuck on a desert island with I guess that would be it.

Other favorites:
-X-COM: UFO Defense (PC)
-Advance Wars series(GBA/DS)
-Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (NES)

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.. Probably have to say Trigger is more better than Cross.

I find myself very addicted to Civilization 4 right now. It's hard to say that is my favorite game of all time, but right now it is consuming my life.

If it were installed on this computer, this would undoubtedly be true of me too. You know what's awesome, though? Civ 5 hits this year!

Yes, yes it does. I'm looking forward to it. Considering how broke I am, it'll likely just be added to the short list of games I want but can't afford, but it will at least get that honor.

My favorite game, to this day, is Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I still love it, I will never stop loving it, and I will forever regret giving it away some years ago when I 'traded up' to a PlayStation. Granted, I'm glad I *got* that Playstation, but I wish I had kept the game itself. :( I usually don't like platformers, ironically enough, but this one really will never leave me as my childhood favorite. While not in my top 3, Mario 3 for the NES is pretty high up on my favorite games list as well.

Something I'm really happy about: Sonic Classic Collection comes out for the DS tomorrow, I have money for it (well, most of it + a gift card), and I'm getting one as soon as I can. I don't expect everything to be the same in terms of 100% similarity in cosmetics, but I've been without this game for about 5 years now, and it's driving me mad.

TOP 4
1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
2. Advance Wars (3 [DS] and 4 [DoR] are tied for this, since each has features I love that the other lacks)
3. Final Fantasy IV
4. Mario Bros. 3

At the moment, I love playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I don't understand how they could nerf Jigglypuff though.

Jigglypuff was already easy to kill in Melee and thus the power of Rest *pwang!* was reasonable.

In Brawl, Jigglypuff's rest was nerf such that it no longer 1HKO enemies at 0% damage.

How could they have buffed Kirby more, when he was already very strong.

Recently got a free copy of Age of Empires III through the club bing thing. Its a pretty good one. Not sure if I would call it a favorite yet, but I'm still playing it.

I will have to split my favourite games into two parts (platforms).

For Nintendo (NES, Wii...etc):
Super Mario 3 (old time fave for NES)
Zelda : Twilight Princess (Wii)

For PC:
System Shock 2 (I can still get nervous when I play this game in the dark...yes I know the game is dated...but still)
Silent Hill series (for that horror fix in you)
X-COM : UFO (old love dies hard)
Civilization 3 (since I haven't tried 4 yet)
Battle of Wesnoth (free and I like the experience system)

That is all...for now.

Ungh's fravourirest mega fantastic game ever, was the arcade game Crazy Climber. I haven't seen it since the 80's. You had to climb up the outsides of apartment blocks. Apes were dropping household items on your head, while angry maids continuously slammed the windows shut on your fingers. I wish I could meet it once more and play that king of games. Nostalgia would likely slap me hard across the chops, for being so silly as to expect a game over 20 years old, to be any good. Then I'd have to kick it in its arcade-geriactric PCB's. That would shock my gaming soul.
No Wait.
Bubble Bobble continues, through the years, to be Ungh's best Gamin' buddy.

Monkey Island! Well, the first 3. I got stuck 5 minutes in to the 4th one (I wasn't used to the 3d graphics so spent 15 minutes trying to get Guybrush to walk through a door, and he kept walking into the frame.

The Ace Attorney Series. You play a laywer in the future, and you have to defend clients who look very very guilty (but 99% of times, they're not). Also, because the police force is shit and legal system a bit screwy, you have to [strike]steal[/strike] collect, your own evidence to help make your case. There are bits that piss me off, for me, at least, like, I get places where I want to object, but can't explain why I object or how evidence A contradicts or has relevance to statement B. It's either the right piece of evidence to the right statement (however bizarrely), or automatic health loss. And if it's the right evidence and right statement, PW (and possibly Apollo, but not got to that one yet), just goes off on one about it, even if it's not for the reason I thought it might be.

Fire Emblem. I've only played the GBA and DS ones, which have been released outside Japan (so FE 7, 8, and 9), but they're lots of fun, turn based strategy RPG esque games. They can be Nintendo Hard, especially since, if a character dies, there's no way to bring them back, so it means resetting the entire level.

I've been a big fan of Fallout 2, replayed it a lot, also played and replayed a lot of Starcraft

Now I'm playing The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex, and it pretty much got me hooked
